Mikalah and Zach’s wedding at Venue3Two was the perfect balance of timeless tradition and personal style. From their dramatic staircase portraits (some of my favorites) to their jaw dropping reception, every moment was thoughtfully curated to reflect who they are as a couple. From the moment guests stepped through the front door, they were greeted with Mikalah’s vision for their big day. It was a seamless blend of fun, unique, and class!

Venue 3 Two

Venue3Two is one of Grand Rapids’ most stunning all-inclusive venues. Once a private mansion, the property offers both indoor and outdoor spaces that photograph beautifully in every season. Couples can take advantage of the spacious bridal and groom suites, so everyone can be onsite for the entire day with no need for shuttling between locations. (Which, in my opinion, is kind of rare for the area and incredibly convenient!) Just outside, the manicured grounds open up to a horse farm next door, giving couples the chance for unique, romantic portraits. Inside, every corner is picture-perfect, from the arched front doors to the sweeping staircase. There are no bad places for photos and the location itself is easily found & navigated for guests.

A Sophisticated Wedding Ceremony Grand Rapids MI

While the venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies, Mikalah and Zach opted for an indoor wedding and it was stunning! As a professional interior designer, Mikalah has a striking eye for detail and it shone through in the design of the space. The vision for their big day was luxury, traditional, and intentional in every way. Everything came together so beautifully that one of the venue workers commented that they had the most stunning reception setup they’d ever seen at the venue!

They wanted to be sure to capture all of the special moments in a way that matched the luxe decor. What better way than to opt for meaningful, dramatic portraits, including a family photo inspired by royal paintings? To make it happen, they rented a green velvet couch as the focal point. The result was a set of portraits that felt both timeless and refreshingly different. Some of my favorite shots from the day included the portraits on the staircase. The dramatic effect is something you just can’t get elsewhere!

Mikalah and Zach’s wedding day honored classic traditions while making room for personal touches. They shared first dances, heartfelt toasts, and a full night of celebration on a checkerboard dance floor. It was such a bold, stylish choice that tied in perfectly with the rest of their design! With just over 100 guests, the celebration felt intimate and lively, with plenty of time to connect with their closest family and friends. Between the stunning venue and the heart and soul they poured into every detail, Mikalah and Zach’s wedding was perfect from start to finish.
