The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe, MI. This historic estate delivered on every detail for a romantic, castle-inspired session that felt straight out of a storybook.

Originally built as the home of Edsel Ford (the only child of Henry Ford) and his family, the Ford House is now a beautifully preserved estate open for tours and special photography sessions. The architecture, garden design, and lakeside views bring European elegance to the heart of Michigan. It’s a giant estate on the water with lots of gardens, a pool, their mansion, and just lots of greenery! My favorite thing was the gardens and the fact that it is private so there’s no huge crowds!
Jenna and Isaiah’s session gave us the perfect chance to explore the best the property has to offer. We started with photos in front of the mansion and slowly made our way through the rose gardens, down to the pool area, and eventually the front gates. The incredibly cool and unique structure made their gallery feel effortlessly editorial.
Ford House Tour
One of the coolest parts about the Ford House as an engagement session location is that a tour comes with perks. When you book a photo session here, you’re chauffeured in a golf cart across the expansive estate. This allows couples to make the most of your hour-long time slot without worrying about walking between locations in heels or formalwear. There is a $90/hour photography fee for non-members, but the convenience, privacy, and variety make it more than worth it.
